Ivan Lopez is a choreographer from Port Chester, NY, currently studying Dance at Wesleyan University. He serves as a director for two campus teams—X-TACY: The Collective and Wes Latin & Ballroom—and works closely with Wesleyan’s Dance Department as a Community Coordinator, bridging the gap between student dancers and faculty to strengthen the university’s dance community. Specializing in heels, hip-hop, and Latine dance styles, Ivan is also writing a thesis on queering salsa dance. His choreography—fierce, expressive, and unapologetically bold—explores queerness, identity, and the balance between tradition, disruption, and misbehaving beautifully.
